TAILOR MADE WINELANDS HOLIDAYS
Even if you're not fond of wine in particular, a visit to the Cape Winelands is not to be missed. The region is exquisite with expansive wine farms, lined with tall shady trees or flanked by towering mountains. The quaint villages and small towns are steeped in history dating back to the French Huguenot and Dutch Settlers and are filled with art galleries, boutique curio shops, fantastic restaurants and bistros.
Here is a sample of a week's winelands experience, giving you a great taste of three popular wine regions of the Cape:

Highlights:
- Luxurious accommodation on working wine estates
- Sumptuous cuisine at award-winning restaurants
- Relaxed and easy paced, truly soak up the laid-back atmosphere of the winelands
Day 1
Your holiday begins in the beautiful city of Cape Town. On arrival at the airport, a representative from African Pathfinder will meet you, assist you with the hired car and escort you to your first destination, a working wine estate within the greater Cape Town area. Spend 3 nights at Constantia Uitsig:
CONSTANTIA UITSIG
Nestled in the heart of the Constantia Winelands, Uitsig is one of the top wine estates of Cape Town. It is hard to believe that you are in a large city, when staying at Constantia Uitsig. Surrounded by lush green vineyards that sweep up along the foothills of the Constantia Mountains; there is hardly another sign of the city metropolis. Relax in the luxurious garden suites, which are both spacious and homely. Savour the delicious tastes at the award-winning restaurants while sampling the fine wines from the estate and surrounding vineyards.
Day 1 - 3
Take time to explore the Constantia winelands region. Within a 10km radius from Uitsig there are many great wine estates to visit including Groot Constantia, Buitenverwachting and Klein Constantia. Uitsig is also well located within 20 minutes from the city centre, the V&A Waterfront as well as a scenic drive to Cape Point.
Day 4
Enjoy a leisurely morning at Constantia Uitsig before packing up and checking out. Today you meander along the coastal road, past farmlands and vineyards and small wineland towns to the popular Franschhoek Village. Spend 2 days exploring the valley, whilst staying at the superb Mont Rochelle hotel:
MONT ROCHELLE
Mont Rochelle is perched on the hilltop, overlooking the picturesque Franschhoek Valley. With rolling lawns leading to the working wine farm, Mont Rochelle is a great destination to enjoy the heart of the winelands. This boutique hotel has beautifully appointed rooms and suites to offer as well as fine dining at the Mange Tout restaurant.
Day 4 & 5
Enjoy a stroll through the Franschhoek Village, browse the art galleries and boutique shops. Stop in at a few wine estates, sampling their wines or enjoying a light meal or even chocolate tasting, along with a wine tasting. If you're needing a bit of exercise there are great hiking trails, mountain biking routes and horse-riding offered in the region.
Day 6
Rounding off your winelands experience, you leave Franschhoek today and continue onto nearby Paarl where you spend the last 2 days at the fabulous Roggeland Country Estate:
ROGGELAND
Roggeland is a family-run, boutique guesthouse and one of our most favourites. The old, Cape-Dutch buildings are home to the guest suites as well as the main reception, lounge and dining room. Here you can enjoy delicious 4-course dinners, carefully prepared by the qualified chef and owner of Roggeland. Each course is accompanied by a glass of the region's finest wines. The estate is located against the backdrop of the majestic Drakenstein Mountains and also offers a cool swimming pool and lush green lawns to laze on under the shade of tall oak trees.
Day 6 & 7
Using Roggeland as your base, meander along the Paarl winelands, stopping in at the many famous wine estates including Fairview, Nederberg, Rhebokskloof and more. Many of these estates also offer great cuisine, so we do suggest you make time for a long lazy lunch en-route. Return back to Roggeland for their relaxed, homely welcome, delicious dinners and great comfort.
Day 8
Spend your last day at leisure, either relaxing at the poolside or visiting more wine estates. Check out of Roggeland, say farewell to your hosts and depart for the airport. Drop off the hired car and check in for your flight home.
