Why choose African Pathfinder as your travel specialists, rather than booking everything yourself?
A couple of great reasons:
- Firstly we live here! Combine this with our passion for our country and its neighbours and you will find no better combination of first-hand expertise!
- We have personally and carefully selected the finest destinations, suppliers and attractions throughout southern Africa and have excellent knowledge of each.
- Being based in South Africa, we are at close-hand and on standby 24/7 from the time you land to the minute you board your flight home – giving you a personal contact throughout your holiday for any further assistance, alterations and peace of mind!
- It won’t cost you anything more – yes, that’s true. Unlike other travel agents or operators we don’t add any service fees on top of your bookings. We also have excellent relationships with many suppliers, hotels, lodges etc and have in many cases, preferred rates, which enable us to offer you great deals.
What is it that we can arrange for you?
Pretty much everything from flights, hotels, safaris, activities, car hire, transfers, private tours, private dinners, special occasions, restaurant reservations… and so on! We’re a one-stop-holiday-shop!
How do we get started with your tailored holiday?
Firstly its best to know as much about you and your interests as possible, so just pop us an email , fill in our online enquiry or give us a ring on +27 (0) 21 790 6061. The more detail we have the better we can match the destination to suit you. From there we will take no more than 24 hours (Mon-Fri) to put together some great suggested itineraries for you to consider. Nothing is ever set in stone though, so if you’re not 100% happy with the first selection, then we are more than happy to give you more ideas until you are!
Is it really a tailor made holiday?
Definitely. We don’t have any set tours, packages or templates that are mass-produced. Every suggested itinerary is designed from scratch for each client so that you do truly get a personalised holiday. Depending on the destination you’re looking for, there may be times that we can offer you a ‘tour/ package’ special – but this is still offered only specifically if we feel it is suited to you.
How much does it cost me to book through African Pathfinder?
As we mentioned before, we do not charge any service fee on top of your bookings. This means that it does not cost you anything more than if you booked everything yourself – although you wouldn’t get nearly as many of our great service benefits if you did!
Will someone from African Pathfinder meet me on arrival?
Yes! If we can’t personally be there to meet you on arrival in southern Africa, we have reliable and friendly representatives who will welcome you on our behalf. In the cases where we aren’t personally there, we will also personally call you during your first few days to ensure you are enjoying your holiday and know that we are here for you – anytime.
When is the best time to travel to southern Africa?
Well, anytime during the year you will find different regions are at their peak in terms of visiting times. For the more southern regions like Cape Town and the Garden Route, the summer season from November to April is a great, sunny time to visit. Whereas the further north you go, the better it is mid-year. In every case however we will advise as to when the best time to come is, depending on the destination and interest such as safaris, beach etc.
Is southern Africa a good destination for families?
Yes, southern Africa has a lot to offer for families and this is one of our specialties – children-friendly holidays. Obviously there are some concerns to take into consideration such as malaria areas, age restrictions for safaris etc, but we have a great base of destinations that are very child-friendly.
Our clients say:
“I really cannot say how brilliant a time we had. The first night we were there (RiverBend Lodge) and went for our first drive and saw the elephants, is right up there as one of the best times of my life – we had such a great time. I was really really pleased that you recommended it to me. We saw the twins and they are so cute. I have so many photos of them! I would love to go back and spend some more time there. I will of course recommend you to everyone I know. More and more people are planning on going to South Africa so I’m sure you will be very busy!”
